Q
My boss thinks I'm incompetent.
But I've already improved
my performance in a short
period of time. I believe
he'll do everything to force
me out of a job. It's hard
for me to look for another
job because of my high pay
package. What do you think?

Forced
Resignation
A
There
is more credit and satisfaction
in being a first-rate domestic
helper than a tenth-rate executive.
If you can't turn your situation
around, then it's best to cut,
and to cut cleanly.
Seek
out a replacement job soon, and
don't mind the pay. What is important
is keeping your integrity intact.
But before you leave, negotiate
for a separation package that
will help you while you're between
jobs. Try to get an impressive
package and a written statement
about your work accomplishment,
if not a recommendation.
If
you want to fight back, you will
need the best labor lawyer you
can find. This way, you can wangle
a little more from your boss,
who may do anything to sever the
employment relationship.
